Tanjung Rhu area is located at the northern coastline of Langkawi. So most hotels here take advantage of the lovely white sandy beaches that are fringed with casuarina trees. Other than some of the best serene and beautiful beaches in the island, the water area in Tanjung Rhu is also full of mangroves, limestone formations and tiny little islands that are only short distance away from the shore.

Overall, the entire area is very scenic, untouched and secluded. There is also a river-way from here that leads to the famous Kilim Geopark Tour.

Tourists who like to enjoy the sun with cool breeze and be surrounded by nature, prefer to stay in Tanjung Rhu. There are a couple great resorts and budget hotels here. The luxury resorts have their own private beaches. The hotels provide cars for local sightseeing and island tours.

However, you will be far away from restaurants and shops. In fact there are hardly any restaurants or eateries around, other than few serving local Malay food. So you will be mostly limited to taking hotel food. There are also no proper shopping center within miles, other than some local stalls selling clothes and souvenir items.
