There are number of sailing cruises in Langkawi offering different types of cruising on recreational yachts. There are several well established operators and have different types of mono-hull yachts and catamarans. Sizes of yachts vary from small (8-10 persons), medium (15-20 persons) to large (35-70 persons). There are also motorized yachts.
Some of the sailing cruises operate on a sharing basis and some are offered for private charters. There are essentially three places (docks) from where the cruises depart and that depends on the location of the cruise operator. Some like Crystal Yacht, Tropical Charter, etc depart from Awana Porto Malai (now known as Resorts World Langkawi) Terminal located at the southern end of Pantai Tengah at the south western coast. They usually sail around the southern islands of Langkawi.
Stardust operates from the north eastern Kilim Jetty and they usually navigate their boat around the Kilim Geopark & Mangroves area and also at the open sea at Tanjung Rhu in the north. While Blue Water Star Sailing and its sister company Damai Indah operate from Royal Langkawi Yacht Club on Kuah's Bass Harbor. They will usually sail around the south eastern islands.

The company was established in 1997 by Jamie and Ryoko Scott, a Canadian-Japanese couple. They are the first in Langkawi to offer the Sunset Cruise.

Damai Indah
This is a sister concern of Blue Water Star Sailing and run by Eva who is originally from Germany. She started this operation after she bought her first boat in 2008. She has enormous sailing experience together with her husband.

Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, Kuah, at the south eastern end of Langkawi's main island.

Stardust Yacht Charter
This is a the only sailing yacht departing from Kilim Jetty at the north east of Langkawi. Their cruise trips are combined with one hour speed boat safari to explore the mangroves, caves, lagoons and the Kilim geopark. So you get two excursions in one offering.
