Upscale, Bar & KTV Lounge
This is an upscale lounge with KTV rooms located in Bayview Hotel at the heart of Kuah Town. It starts late and people start to trickle in after 11pm although the resident live band starts a little earlier. The live band Wind Chill comprises of five member team - 3 ladies and two men. They play reggae, pop, rocks, 70's hits and more. You can make a request and they will entertain. The band starts playing from 9:15pm onwards until 2am.
Although this is an upscale lounge, there is no extra service or food offered. You can enjoy a drink and listen to the live music. The room has a seating capacity of 100 persons. There are small round tables and bar stool like high chairs that are scattered around the room. Many locals and patrons prefer to stand and listen to the music while having a drink.
Beer is RM12 per glass. However if you are a regular or intend to become one, then the hotel also offers a voucher system whereby the drinks come a bit cheaper.
The staff and the musicians are quite friendly and will immediately make you feel at home. So if you are staying in Kuah town and want to enjoy an evening while feeling the local vive, then come to Woodpecker Lounge. We do it whenever we are staying overnight at the town.
Another option here is the Karaoke rooms. Although this is a lounge, it offers a few Karaoke rooms which you can reserve by the hour. There are small rooms some of which can accommodate up to 4 persons where you can merrily sing away for the night. The sound systems are also quite good. The hourly charge is RM50.
