Langkawi weather in October
October Highlights
October is the rainiest month in the year. You can expect rains on about 22 to 23 days during the month. But don't think that it would be raining through out the day. In fact even during the peak monsoon time, it usually does not rain for more than 2 to 3 hours a day.
And most of the days the mornings are bright and sunny. Only towards the afternoon cloud starts accumulating and then it starts pouring later in the afternoon or evening. Sometimes out of the 2 hours, it would be raining 1 hour at night and accompanied by thunderstorms at times. But when you wake up next morning, it's usually all clear with no signs of rain having taken place the last night.
But since it can rain anytime, you should plan some indoor activities as well, like visiting the
Craft Complex or
Galeria Perdana etc. In fact the
Langkawi Wildlife Park & Bird Paradise also has a fully roofed pathways protecting you against rains while enjoying the wildlife. If you like to play games, then go down to Kuah Town and try your hands on bowling at Jetty Point Shopping Complex.
But you still get an average sunshine of 7 hours in a day during October. The day's high temperature stays around 31°C while the showers bring the temperature down to a low of 23°C in the evenings. Th humidity level stays quite high and it can be quite uncomfortable at times during the day.
Hari Raya Aidil Fitri in October marks the end of Ramadan. Which means the Muslims would now break their fast and enjoy lots of food and party over two days of holiday.
