This is a small but nice budget hotel and very conveniently located in Kuah town. The hotel has only 10 rooms on the first floor. The hotel is sandwiched within a row of commercial establishments in a long two storeyed building.
The staffs at the reception are friendly and this is one of the very few budget hotels in the town where I have seen that the staffs can speak good English. However the reception does not operate 24 hours, particularly at night. And even during the day time you may not always find staffs at the front desk, they may be busy doing something else. So it's always advisable to let them know in advance about your time of arrival so that they can help you with your check in process and luggage.
But note that like most other budget hotels of its category, there is virtually no room service. This is a lodging only accommodation and you should plan to come in, sleep or take rest and then go out. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and eateries within easy walking distance. There is one restaurant right next to it (as you come out and turn right) which prepares nice Indian and Pakistani food. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a pizza and local Malay eatery nearby.
The Kuah Jetty and the Lagenda Park are about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Airport and Pantai Cenang are about 25 minutes by taxi and the fare is RM30 for both airport and Pantai Cenang. Bank ATM is located within walking distance.
Rooms & Amenities
Although a small hotel, you have choices of rooms ... standard, superior, deluxe triple, family room and suite. Standard and superior rooms are quite small although all rooms are nicely furnished when you compare with other budget hotels.
However one problem with most rooms is that they do not have windows. The family room with two queen beds however has windows and overlooking some shops ahead. One good thing is they provide plenty of pillows, although most may not be that soft. The beds are quite soft and nice though.
Rooms have color TV, a small fridge, split air conditioner (some of which require maintenance as water dripping is not uncommon), electric kettle to make coffee etc. Coffee pouches are provided but you need to buy water. There is also in-room free wi-fi internet access although the connectivity may not be always stable. On request they also provide you with hair dryer and ironing facilities.
Geysers and hot showers are available in the bathrooms. Some toiletries like small bottle of shampoo and conditioners are provided but no tooth brush or toothpaste.
The hotel can organize local tours and Island hopping boat tours at reasonable prices. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12 noon.
What we like about the hotel
1) The location is excellent and quite central. There are ample shops and eateries within easy walking distance. The location is good if your main purpose is to stay in the town for shopping or business etc. However for going to beaches like in Pantai Cenang, you will need to take a taxi. However the staffs can call a taxi if you need one.
2) The rooms are fairly clean and the staffs are friendly and helpful.
3) Free in-room wi-fi is an added bonus.
What can improve
1) Ventilation can be a problem. There are no windows in most rooms which means that you will need to keep the lights switched on even during day time.
2) Air conditioners and some bathroom fittings need more regular maintenance.

Cosy Inn is located quite centrally in Kuah. It's 24kms from the airport and takes about 25 to 30 minutes by taxi. Pantai Cenang also takes about 20 minutes by taxi.
