Hi, day-1 is okay but you need to time Underwater World and Laman Padi properly. On day-2 fitting in three attractions in the 2nd half is difficult... you can skip field of burnt rice. On day-3 keep in mind that you need to reach Kilim Jetty by 4pm to take the mangrove tour... so take early lunch and set off for wildlife park. Grabcar is available but not many... so better not to depend on that. Normal taxis will cost around RM120 for 4 hours.

Hi Raj,

Thank you for assisting us in our itinerary earlier. We just returned from Langakwi few days back. Overall I would say it was and awesome trip and hassle free. Our accommodation could have been better, nevertheless I would not expect much from a 3 star hotel either. Our transportation throughout the journey was via a 10 seater Langkawi Taxi, overall cheaper then expected, we had a good & accommodating driver, he was spontaneous in arranging & deciding on the places we should go day by day.

Our itinerary was not entirely like how we've planned as there's some timing hiccups and travelling with kids means we have to accommodate to their needs first before everything else. Nevertheless we cover most of the major tourist attractions i would say..

1st day : After checking in @ 3pm

Late lunch @ Cenang Mall
Kuah Town, Eagle Square
Night Market @ Kuah Town
Back to Hotel

2nd day : Raining whole day till 5pm

Wildlife Park (Quite well sheltered, thus the rain doesnt really bother us // Kids enjoy feeding the animals)
Lunch @ near wildlife park (15mins drive out)
Langkawi Handicraft Centre
Crocodile Adventure (Very educational // Kids enjoy feeding the baby crocodiles)
Dinner @ Cenang Beach Area
Back to Hotel

3rd Day:

Mangrove - 2 hours boat tour (sufficient for kids to sightseeing)
Oriental Village
Lunch @ Oriental Village
Skycab // Sky Bridge
Feeding Rabbits
3D Art Museum
Dinner @ Restaurant near our hotel
Back to hotel

I would definitely come back to visit Langkawi... Thank you again for your awesome insight on Langkawi, it was very beneficial. Cheers!!!

Hi Raj,

I had gone through your previous itinerary replies. Was very knowledge-full. I have planned a visit to Langkawi with family (2 adult 1 child 9 years) (3rd Feb 2020 to 5th Feb 2020). My flight will reach LGK around 9.55 AM, as the hotels will not allow early check in. Where do I need to go first for sightseeing? Visiting Oriental village, Sky bridge is it fine? Also, I am planning to visit main attractions like Eagle square, Under water world, Cenang beach, 3D museum, Island Hopping, Corocdile feeding, Kilim Geopark, Mat Chinchang mountain etc., of course shopping too. But I am not able to plan how or where to start to complete all the locations as I have planned the trip alone without operator.

Kindly give a hand to arrange the trip. Regards

Hi, go to Oriental village first because it has adequate facilities including food, toilets etc, so you won't have problems spending a few hours (assuming you will hire a taxi for few hours and keep the luggage in the boot). At Oriental Village, do the Cable Car ride, Sky Bridge, 3D Art Museum etc (note that Cable Car takes you to the top of Mat Cincang). Have your lunch and get back to Hotel. In the second half you can plan to visit Underwater World and from there you can walk down to Cenang Beach.

On Day-2 you can do Kilim Geopark in the morning and visit Crocodile Farm later. In the evening you can go down to Kuah to visit Eagle Square and do some shopping. On Day-3 you can do Island Hopping in the morning and keep the second half free.

Hi Raj,

I will be going to Langkawi with my family and relatives on the 17th Nov - 20th Nov via Jetty Kuala Perlis. All of us are adults with 7 Senior Citizens (Our Parents) total of 18 Pax. We will be staying in Pantai Cenang. Would love to hear an input from you, still contemplating should we go to Marine Park / Mangrove Tour on day 3. This is my proposed itinerary;

Day 1:
On arrival pick up from Langkawi Jetty.
After that proceed for full day tour: Cable Car + Sky bridge, Oriental Village, Telaga Habour Park and Kota mahsuri Cultural.

Day 2:
After Breakfast, proceed to island Hopping. After tour, proceed to Underwater World, Cenang
beach and Duty Free Shopping.

Day 3:
After Breakfast, Pulau Payar Snorkeling Beach Package. After tour, free and easy.

Day 4:
After Breakfast, free and easy. Then, proceed to the Langkawi Jetty.

Hi,

Since you have several senior citizens in your group, will they be able to snorkel at Marine Park? Think through... without snorkelling or scuba diving, Marine Park is not quite worth visiting. In such a case, consider taking a good full day mangrove geopark tour.

I will be flying with my mother (65) and my son (8) to Langkawi from the 29 aug to the 2 Sep . My flight on the 29th is late at night so we really only have the 30,31 aug and 1 Sep to do anything. I would like to see the cable car and also skytrex ziplines on the 30th. Spend the 31st on the beach near my hotel which is the Camar resort. Take the eagle feeding island hopping tour on the 1st. Hope I can do all those activities . Anything else I can fit into those days ? Thank you.

On the last day, if you do the island hopping in the first half, then in the second half you can visit Laman Padi followed by Underwater World (both nearby at Pantai Cenang area).

Hi Raj,

This is a gem of a website. Thanks for all your selfless help. I'm planning to visit Langkawi with my husband from Sep 30 - Oct 2 this year. We're in our early 30s. Our focus for the trip is enjoying beaches/nature, engage in water sports and activities, cover a few 'hidden gems' for quiet and peace and try some good food (mix of Western and local island cuisine). We're staying at Cenang Plaza Beach Hotel. We plan to hire and drive a rental car. Would really appreciate your advice on the itinerary.

Day 1: Sep 30 (Fri)
2 pm: arrive at Langkawi airport
2 - 4 pm: check-in at hotel
4 - 7 pm: beach hopping (Tanjung Rhu, Pasir Hitam, Teluk Yu)
7 pm: dinner and night market nearby

Questions:
Which beach should we see the sunset in?
Can we cover all three beaches?

Day 2: Oct 1 (Sat)
9 - 11 am: 4 hr jet ski/boat island hopping tour
12 - 2 pm: Sandy Skulls beach + lunch
3 - 6 pm: Telega Tujuh waterfall (we plan to go all the way up and then down)
6:30 pm: Sunset at sky bridge
7:30 pm: Dinner and fire show

Questions:
We have not tried jet skiing ever before. Should we take the jet skiing tour or stick to boat?
Should we visit Pantai Kok instead of Sandy Skulls beach?

Day 3: Oct 2 (Sun)
9 - 5 pm: Pulau Payar Marine Park Snorkelling & Scuba Diving Tour
6 - 7 pm: Sunset at Pantai Tengah
7 pm: Dinner and nearby night market

Questions:
We have not done snorkelling & scuba diving before but want to try. Which operator is good for beginners?
Should we get a private tour?
Is there any operator offering both snorkelling and scuba diving package?
Will it be too crowded since it is a Sunday?

Overall questions:
What is the average per day cost for rental car? We plan to cover 5-6 beaches, can we park in all of them for free? If not, what is the parking charge? Is there any hidden gem/natural wonder we're missing out on? Thanks a lot!

Hi, Below are my comments:

On day-1, if you can start from your hotel by 4pm, you can visit all the three beaches on the north shore... however, you need to keep a check on the time. Visit Teluk Yu first (will take about 40-45 minutes from Cenang in normal traffic conditions), then Pasir Hitam a short distance away, and then Tanjung Rhu beach. Out of the three, Tanjung Rhu is the best beach and also the best for sunset view.

On day-2, you can try out the Jet-Ski, it doesn't require much skills... they usually do a little practice session before launching on the tour. Not sure what you mean by going all the way up at Telega Tujuh... do you mean up to the top of Gunung Mat Cincang? You can't reach the Skybridge on that trail, plus Skybridge closes at 6pm. Sandy Skulls Beach has better amenities than Pantai Kok beach, but both are good.

On day3, being a Sunday, it can get a little crowded at Pulau Payar. You should take a group tour through one of the well known operators. You can do both snorkeling as well as beginners dive on the same day. Suggest you go through Pulau Payar Marine Park for details and operators.

You can find indicative car rental rates on this webpage

At most of the beaches you mentioned, parking is free... suggest you also take guidance on this from your hotel.
